Swagata DUTTA
I obtained my Master’s degree in Physics with a specialization in Condensed matter physics from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), India. During my Master’s thesis and also later as a Junior Project Fellow at BHU, I had the opportunity to introduce myself in the world of material science, sustainability and green energy. Later, as a Junior research Fellow at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT KGP), I worked in the field of Supercapacitors. These research experiences deepened my passion towards innovation, sustainability and empowerment.
DESTINY has provided me the opportunity to work in two different labs in France: ICMCB and LCPO in Bordeaux and my PhD project mainly focuses on exploring innovative polymer binders for aqueous based supercapacitors.
Being a part of DESTINY has given me the opportunity to work with amazing mentors and supervisors, as well as exceptional research facilities, for which I am incredibly thankful. Through DESTINY, I had the chance to participate in a variety of academic and industry trainings from around Europe. I had the opportunity to learn about EIS from NIC, Slovenia and XRD from CIC EnergiGUNE, Spain. Additionally, UMICORE gave us excellent training to demonstrate the industrial side of our work. I believe through DESTINY, I can achieve my long-term goal of becoming a scientist and contributing to the society through empowering others
